A: No, Any reslutant weight loss represents lost water, not lost fat. Heat injury can occur if you exercise to vigorously in extreme heat or by using rubberized clothing.

 

Q: Can I burn fat from a specific area of my body?

A: No. When you exercise, you utilize energy producted by metabolizing fat from all the regions of your body. Performing sit ups, for example, will not trim the fat from your abdomen and more rapidly than your buttocks or thighs.

 

Q: Do muscles turn to fat when you stop exercising regularly?

A: No. Muscles cannot turn to fat. Muscle and fat are two seperate and distinct tissues. If you do not use a muscle, it will literally waste away (atrophy).

 

Q: Should I stay away from fats, sodium, and sugars?

A: Unless you are diabetic, have hypertension, or retain water, there noting wrong with unsaturated fats and sugars; moderation is the key. As for sodium, you should seek medical advice before eliminating it from your diet. Sodium occurs naturally in foods and serves many important functions in the body.
